The Spanish followers of the great Impressionists were not only well educated, they went through the art schools of the leading European capitals and truly loved their homeland. It was this combination that so clearly distinguished the Spanish Impressionists. Mariano Fortuny, Santiago Rusinol, Ramon Casas, Ignacio Zuloaga and, of course, Joaquin Sorolla are no less significant representatives of impressionism than their French counterparts.

During the lecture, you will find answers to questions such as:
- Why did Mariano Fortuny become an idol for young artists?
- How did Santiago Rusinol go from a bright impressionist to one of the leaders of Catalan Art Nouveau?
- Who played a key role in the opening of the popular artistic cafe "Black Cat" in Barcelona?
- Why is Ramon Casas the Spanish Gustave Caillebotte?
- Who was the first graphic designer and author of advertising posters?
- Which of the Spanish Impressionists was fantastically popular in Europe and America?
- Why is Ignacio Zuloaga suspected of falsifying paintings for the Russian collector Ivan Shchukin?
- Why was one of the streets of Valencia named after Joaquin Sorolla during his lifetime?

In November, 4 more interesting lectures are waiting for you about the history of impressionism in France, Spain, Russia and the USA.
See you at the MuseumLV gallery on November 12!
