ART HELPS VISION October 11 – November 10, 2018 Art gallery MuseumLV Art gallery MuseumLV hosts the charity exhibition ART HELPS VISION on its second-floor venue in Andreja Pumpura 2, Riga, 11 October – 10 November.
Thirteen wonderful and generous artists from Latvia - Agnija Ģērmane, Jūlija Jeresjko, Inga Jurova, Ilze Laizāne, Aldis Kļaviņš, Vitolds Kucins, Kristīne Kvitka, Līga Ķempe, Ieva Liepiņa, Dita Lūse, Kārlis Siliņš, Patrīcija Tiknuss and Andris Vītols have accepted the invitation of GRATA Art Foundation to donate their artworks in order to publish a calendar and organise a charity auction with the goal to help sight-impaired people. This exposition showcases the donated works as well as other various works of these artists.
The exhibition takes place and is supported by the initiative of the culture centre GrataJJ, art gallery MuseumLV and the Latvian American Eye Center (LAEC), as it is a part of the LAEC 25th anniversary programme.
The calendar with all the donated artworks has been presented during the exhibition and is available for purchase with all the profit going to Grata Art Foundation. Thus the visitors are able to participate in the Art Helps Vision project. The calendar is a tribute to all of the wonderful medics that help patients in Latvia to regain their sight.
The date, when charity auction takes place in the gallery MuseumLV, is on 3 December 2018. All the profits will be contributed to patients in need of cornea transplantation and to those whose expenses for eye health are not covered by the state.
The authors of the project are Jūlija Jeresjko, Helēna Staņislavska and Una Brūna.
