Jeļena Morozova
Elena Morozova Elena’s biggest love and passion in painting is color. She believes that by means of color, an artist can communicate the subtlest feelings, moods and emotions. Color sets the character of the artwork and instantly affects its perception by the viewer, implying the feeling behind the work. In painting, Elena strives to celebrate the small ordinary things and moments, to find the beauty all around in colours, textures and shapes, light and shadows. She paints from direct observation, sometimes trying to depict the scene before her as it is, other times composing something in her studio to match an imagined idea. Elena's work ranges from realistic to more expressive and decorative. The genres she works in are landscape, still life and portrait. Elena often works en plein air, trying to capture the feeling of the place and time. Painting for Elena, at its best is escaping into the moment from the rush of thoughts, fears and worries and seeing the beauty of simple things, distilling them into colors, shapes and patterns, and taking pleasure in just that - being here right now and being able to see and experience the beauty in the world that sometimes seems lacking it. Elena's goal is to inspire those who see her work to look more carefully at the world around them, to discover beauty in everyday things and places.
