Ilze Preisa
Works of Ilze Preisa are multilayered.
They freely coexists different characters and symbols, antique and modern, textures and smooth surface.
The work of a mysterious enchantment is revealed little by little.
Paintings are expressed with Art Nouveau and Art-Deco influence.
In this style are created series of paintings in private areas working together with architects and designers.
Spanish theme - Flamenco, bulls, matadors - is another direction in artist’s work. This theme allows to discover its temperamental characters, the psychological portrait and internal experiences.
Masks, dolls, dresses, portraits – also these characters through symbols help to create a story of people.

Ilze Preisa got higher education studying art in Riga’s and Berlin's art academies. In general, the artist has had 17 solo exhibitions in Latvia and abroad, and participated in more than 90 group exhibitions.
Her unique and feminine paintings are in some famous art collections and museums in several countries - Matti Miliuse and Luciano Benetton art collections, etc., as well as in private collections around the world.
Education.
In 2000 Ilze Preisa Finished Art Academy of Latvia (LMA), MA Fine Art with distinctions, creating a thesis, cycle "Letters from bulls', gaining Klavs Sipolins (Canada) creative scholarship.
1999 - 2002. - Studies at the Latvian Culture Academy (LKA) MA;
In 1998. She was studying in Germany, Berlin University of the Arts (Hochschule der Künste Berlin, HdK );
1988-1994.- studied J.Rozentâls Riga Art Secondary School
